Listen, Listen, Love, Love!!
“...I was in prison and you came to visit me.” Matthew 25:36

Hello! Welcome to the official Web site for the Kairos Prison Ministry Team serving Hancock State Prison located in Sparta, GA. Our mission is to bring Christ's love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them, and to assist in the transition of becoming a productive citizen.

Monthly Kairos Reunions at Hancock State Prison
Monthly Reunions at Hancock are generally held on the 3rd Saturday of every month except in May and November during the actual Kairos Short Course Weekends. Any inmate who has attended a Kairos Weekend - whether at Hancock or some other institution - is invited to gather in the HSP gym with the Kairos Outside Volunteers for fellowship, music, food, testimonies, prayer and encouragement. Outside Visitors are welcome to come to a Reunion but must notify the current Team Leader 2 weeks ahead of time. For Team Members coming to a Monthly Reunion:

Kairos #38: May 17-20, 2011

Kairos Team Leadership
A Kairos Team is made up entirely of Christian volunteers - Lay persons and Clergy -  most of whom have participated in their own 3-Day Spiritual Experience such as Walk To Emmaus, Tres Dias, Cursillo and others. The Team Leader is a Lay person chosen by the local Advisory Council based on observed traits such as spiritual maturity, dedication to the ministry and a servant's heart. Our next team will be led by:

Team Training Meetings
It is extremely important that team members make every effort to attend ALL Meetings leading up to the Kairos Weekend! Volunteering in Kairos is a serious commitment. Please pray about it FIRST and check your calendar BEFORE you commit to serving on the Team. Of course, conflicts do arise unexpectedly but if you KNOW you cannot make the team meetings and/or you are not POSITIVE you can be there for the ENTIRE Weekend, please consider serving on a later Weekend when you do not have any conflicts. The formation and unity of the team PRIOR to entering the institution is essential to the success of the ministry.
